My practical final project (IPA) was the capstone project of my apprenticeship. My company gave me the freedom to decide for myself which project I wanted to undertake. That’s why I decided to relaunch the website for my father’s management consulting firm.
Analysis & Research

Target audience analysis by six-winners.
Most of my work involved analyzing and researching the existing website. My goal was to find out why it was attracting so few new customers and how this problem could be solved with a new design and an improved structure.
Concept & Design

Initial wireframes for the new website.
After conducting a thorough analysis and research, the design phase began. I was able to incorporate the insights I gained directly into the initial design concepts and develop a new content structure that is more user-friendly and clearly organized.
Key Areas

Playground area for the two main focus areas.
My two main design focuses were the development of icons and illustrations. Since the website contains a lot of content that requires explanation and is text-heavy, it was important to me to break up the text with visual elements. The icons and illustrations support the content and make it easier for visitors to understand.
Prototyping

High-fidelity wireframes of the website.
In the end, everything came together to form a complete picture: analysis, research, color scheme, typography, icons, and illustrations. All of these elements ultimately came together to create a complete prototype.
Presentation

With the completion of the prototype, the 120 hours allotted for the practical work also came to an end. This was followed by the final presentation and the technical discussion. The presentation lasted 30 minutes and took place after the project work was completed.
Technical Discussion

My preparation for the technical discussion.
I prepared for the technical interview by thoroughly reviewing my documentation once again and jotting down possible questions and appropriate answers. This allowed me to go into the interview well-prepared and feeling confident.
While working on my thesis, I learned above all how to plan, carry out, and carefully document a large-scale project within a limited timeframe. The most important lesson I took away from this experience is the importance of good daily planning and the discipline to stick to it consistently. This allowed me to maintain an overview of the entire project and achieve my goals on schedule.
